It was built in the 7th century during Umayyad Caliphate, and it belongs to Urwah ibn Al-Zubayer a jurist and Muslim historian. The walls of the castle were built by using volcanic rock and mud.

• Strategic location just 3.5 kilometers from Nabawi mosque.
• An archaeological site (Urwah castle and Ottoman empire remains).
